Therefore, if a man be in Christ, He is a new creature, all things are passed away, behold, all things have become new.
Our true identity is found in a relationship with God, not on earthly and ephemeral things that we have. God’s love for us is sure and everlasting while our accomplishments and possessions will never last forever. In order to have confidence like Jesus did, we need to be convinced about this fact.
Once we give our life to Christ, our Spirit is reborn. We are like new born babies. Not because of anything we have done to earn a new life but because we have received God’s sacrifice through His love.
God is not looking at us through the mirror of our past decisions and life but He sees us as He sees Jesus – perfect and complete.
Also, we are no longer justified by trying to obey the law (the old) but through our faith in Jesus (the new).
We are no longer shakled to depending on our nature to be right with God, but we have freedom and power to live in God’s love through faith in Jesus Christ.
God’s love focuses on who we are In Christ, redeemed, cleansed, regenerated, not what we have been.
