Identity 6

Rom 8:31
What shall we say to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

God is for you. God is for your growth, your prosperity, and progress. He wants that you prosper in all things as your soul prospers. He came so you would have an abundant life. On the other hand, the devil is against you. His purpose is to steal, kill and destroy every good thing God has for you. Most often, the devil uses people against us – by negative words and actions they produce. He also inspires negative thoughts in our minds that attack our confidence.

The question is, do you agree with God or the devil? Are people’s or the devil’s opinions more important to you than what God says about you?

The bible teaches us to resist (to withstand effect of) the devil and He would flee from us. We do not have to accept every word and thought from our environment and let them define us. We can resist the devil by speaking out loud what God says about us in His word and acting in faith on what God tells us to do.

In order to resist the devil, we need to know what God says about us and our circumstances. Meditating on God’s word makes His word become part of us, that it begins to define who we are. This way its easier to resist anything contrary to what God says about us.
