In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
You have certain rights and priviledges entitiled to you as a child of God, simply because you became part of the family of God when you were born again. These benefits are not based on your performance or qualification, but are an expression of God’s love for you and how much He values you.
As an analogy, the citizens of a country enjoy certain rights and priviledges based on the country’s law and the value placed on the citizens. They can leave and return to the country as often as they wish without restrictions, they enjoy government services provided for them, and have right to social and economic assistance. It would be ridiculous if the citizen of a country would ask permission to enter their country, however, if a citizen does not know his/her place, this individual will act in ignorance.
As children of God, we have access to God (his throne of grace), and we can approach him confidently, not because of our selfrighteousness but through Christ and by faith in His finished work. We do not have to go through an intermediary, or beg, or make a sacrifice. From Him (God) we can always find grace and help in time of need. Ephe 3:12, Heb 4:16.
We are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. In Eph 1,2. Some of the spiritual blessings we have are; we have been adopted as God’s children, we have redemption through Jesus’ blood and the forgiveness of our sins, we have obtained an inheritance, we have been sealed with the Holy Spirit and we have been given the same power that raised Christ from the dead.
I encourage you to study and meditate on the first few chapters of ephesians which focus on our identity and gifts in Christ.
